In “Blue Stripe”, artist Irina March unveils a utopia of daring colors and mystical ambiance. As evocative as Nax's work is, his process, he says, is meditative and intuitive. In the beginning he layers shapes, collage elements, and color onto his canvas. He then scrapes through the paint to reveal the colors beneath resulting in a spectacular expression of light, texture, and dimension. The evocative shapes and layers of color in Andre Nax’s paintings are as far reaching as his background. Raised in Russia, he's traveled extensively in Europe, Asia, Japan, and Mexico before making a home in multi-cultural Southern California.
